Current ecological situation in Russia
stipulates a very intensive demand for development of modern technologies
preventing and eliminating pollution of the environment and imposes
the necessity for development for these purposes the market of effective,
mobile and affordable ecological services.
One of the most significant sources of pollution
of water bodies is a surface runoff coming from urban areas and industrial
enterprises. The problem of water pollution by surface runoff is frequently
given little concern and thus industrial storm wastewater in many
cases gets into water bodies untreated carrying a big amount of organic
and suspended substances, oil products, phenols, heavy metal compounds
and biogenic elements. Inecs’ scientific and technical information
analysis and long-term work experience in development of environment
protection technologies from harmful influence allowed discovering
of successful solution for this problem. Our company has designed
and constructed storm wastewater treatment stations (SWTS) that combine
innovative technology, high level of treatment, and are easy and reliable
in operation.
APPLICATION
Storm wastewater treatment stations
SWTS are designed for deep treatment of industrial storm wastewater
bringing water quality level after post-treatment to the discharge
norms for fishery bodies.

GENERAL OPERATION PRINCIPLES OF STORM
WASTEWATER TREATMENT STATIONS (SWTS)
For treatment of industrial storm waters at SWTS
we use technological scheme of reagent effluent treatment, which involves
hydrocyclone, settling tank with blocks for thin-layer settling, skimmer,
filters for mechanical and sorption treatment with synthetic Yorsh-type
bed, equipment for collection and processing of sediment and oil products.
Experience of exploitation of treatment stations shows that application
of the above mentioned scheme allows achievement of wastewater treatment
level satisfying discharge norms for fishery bodies.
Technological
scheme has two independent lines that allow treatment of 75% of incoming
effluent with no decrease in quality of effluent treatment in case
one of the lines breaks down.
Physical and chemical effluent treatment. Industrial
storm wastewaters get to the treatment stations under pressure conditions
and are the headed to hydrocyclones. Pressure hydrocyclones are applied
for mechanical treatment of storm effluent, as well as for thickening
of sludge extracted from effluent.
Preliminary, for improvement of treatment level, effluent is mixed
with coagulant using ejector. Manuflok installation with manual control
was designed for preparation and supply of coagulant solution.
After pressure hydrocyclone effluent gets to the settling tank with
thin-layer modules.
It is designed for treatment of effluent from insoluble high dispersive
admixtures like suspended substances and oil products.
Settling tank is an open-type construction consisting of two chambers
– clarifying and sediment thickening. For acceleration of sedimentation
process the settling tank has flexible thin-layer modules installed.
Thin-layer settling tank has perforated pipes installed for air regeneration.
By air supply to the settling tank there happens an effective shake-up
of the settled sediment off the flexible parts of the thin-layer module
and thus a valid regeneration of the whole thin-layer module is performed.
The settling tank has a – skimmer – a special device for gathering
oil products from the treated water surface into the settling tank.
The effect of effluent clarification in the settling tank is 80% for
suspended substances and 95% for oil products.
To increase effluent treatment level from oil products our treatment
stations have filters of mechanical and sorption treatment with a
fibrous hydrophobic polymer bed – Yorsh-type bed installed in stainless
steel cartridges.
Filters of mechanical and sorption treatment provide the process of
retention of mechanical admixtures and simultaneous destruction and
utilization of oil products by attached to the filter bed microorganisms.
Air-blowers. To provide the technological process
with air our company applies rotary air-blowers that are installed
in a noise and vibration insulation room. Both air-blowers are connected
by an air duct system to the shut-off and control valves.
Air supply control in the effluent treatment process is performed
in automatic mode by alternation of motor shaft speed of an air-blower.
Sediment treatment. Sludge and suspended substances
drawn from the hydrocyclone are brought to the sediment collection
tank; sediment from the settling tank with thin-layer modules and
from the post-treatment block is supplied to the sludge filter for
dewatering manufactured by Inecs Ltd.
Sludge filter is a stainless steel storage tank with a junction pipe
to which replaceable filter bags are attached. Humidity of the dewatered
sludge is 75-80%.
Dewatered sludge bags from the sludge filter are transported to a
storage and utilization site.
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION
Storm wastewater treatment stations
SWTS are manufactured in a block-modular design from completely prefabricated
metal constructions with installed process equipment. This type of
construction design allows assembling at the construction site in
the shortest time.
A modular building is assembled from unitized block-containers
with factory mounted equipment. Containers are assembled to blocks
with help of welding on foundation plates. Foundation plate is a monolith
reinforced concrete slab. Station building is coated by zinc colored
metal covering. SWTS stations are manufactured for operation in cold
and temperate climatic regions (closed-type stations), as well as
in hot environment (open-type stations
ADVANTAGES
1. All process equipment
at the offered treatment facilities is built-in. This allows reducing
construction range and using the building area more efficiently.
2. Buildings of treatment
stations are supplied in separate modules 3 x 6 x 2.7 m in size.
3. Construction works
are done on the customer’s territory
4. High technological
resistance of treatment plant operation with minimum surplus of suspended
solids and oil products, minimal duration of setting treatment plants
at the given technological regime.
5. Easy maintenance
of plant equipment, low service costs.
