INDUSTRIAL DISINFECTION UNITS OF UV-TYPE
PURPOSE
Germicide units of UV-type are
aimed at disinfection of drinking and process waters, treated waste
waters with the help of UV light. UV technology is ecologically
safe method of natural and waste waters disinfection. Disinfection
effect of the UV light is based on irreversible damages of DNA molecules
and ribonucleic acid of the microorganisms presented in water by
photochemical influence of the light energy. Ultraviolet light has
active biocidal effect on different microorganisms including germs,
viruses and fungus.
Unlike chemical disinfection
methods, ultraviolet light doesn’t involve harmful by-products occurrence
in water able to cause negative effect on human organism.

Application UV
devices can be effectively applied for the disinfection of:
- drinking water
- swimming pool water
- food process water
- technical and loose water
- surface and salt water
- treated and post treated waters at agricultural complexes
TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Disinfection unit doesn’t change
water chemistry and provides disinfection of the drinking water
in compliance with Sanitary Inspection norms 2.1.4.559-96 “Drinking
water” at the water quality index, conforming with the Sanitary
Inspection norms.
- muddiness not more than 2 mg/l
- chroma level not more than 35 points
- iron contents not more than 1 mg/l, initial coli index not more
than 10000
Requirements for muddiness, chroma
level, iron contents in initial water depend on ultra-violet light
transmittance physics in water. Units provide UV-dose not less than
16 mg/cm2. The length of the light wave of the UV-lamp is 253,7
bicrons. UV-light destroys DNA molecules in germs and microorganisms’
cells preventing from their reproduction. UV-device maintenance
is simple periodic lamps replacement and disinfection chamber cleaning.
Working conditions of UV device operation:
- air temperature +2 - +50oC
- relative humidity not more than 98% at 35<sup>o</sup>C
- processed water temperature +2 - +30oC
- voltage of the power supply 220 V ± 10%, 50 Hz
Construction of the units The
principal element of the device is disinfection chamber made of
alimentary steel. Disinfection UV-lamps are situated inside the
chamber, covered in solid crystal cases which exclude lamp contact
with water. There are delivery and outlet pipes, level probe mechanism
and other elements on the chamber.
Highly effective UV-lamps with the
life span of about 12000 hours are applied in UV-units. The advantages
of the lamps are their low working temperature of 400?C, high output-input
ratio of 35-40% and restricted radiation spectrum protecting from
ozone emission into the air and dangerous substances occurrence
in water.
According to the contractor’s technical
requirements we produce gravity disinfection systems of conduit
type.
UV units could be operated manually
as well as automatically. Automation system is placed on the remote
control panel.
